Thank you for your interest in the Santee School District! Enrollment is determined by the address where your student resides. If you are having trouble with any of the documents, please call our Registration Team about your specific situation.
Residents: If you are planning to have your student attend your school of residence, you can complete the registration process. Registrations completed after July 1, 2023 will be based on space availability for all residents.
Application Window for Intra-district Transfers and Inter-district Transfers
March 1 - June 1, 2023
- Request for an application does not guarantee acceptance at your desired school.
- Requests after the June 1st deadline will be approved as space allows.
- Priority will be given to siblings who live in the same household.
Intra-District Transfer– you live within the Santee School District boundaries and are choosing a school other than your resident school. You will be prompted in the registration process to fill this form out. Please see application window for important deadlines. There are no transportation services for Intra-District Transfers.
Inter-District Attendance Permit– you do not live in the Santee boundaries and wish to attend a Santee School. Click Here/ Spanish for the Interdistrict Attendance Permit. There are no transportation services for Interdistrict Transfers. Please register online and turn in your application, including the most recent report card, to the Educational Resource Center, 9619 Cuyamaca St., Santee. Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm. If an Interdistrict transfer request is denied, parents/guardians have the right to appeal to the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) within 30 calendar days.

Before you begin, please have the following documents ready to upload:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization records. Click Here for immunization requirements. Students will not be placed at a school or on a waitlist without completed immunizations.
- Emergency contact information - trusted adults the school can contact if parents/guardians cannot be reached.
- Proof of Residency (two current forms are required). Click Here for examples. If you are having difficulty with these documents, please contact our Registration Department for assistance.
- School Health Check-up Form / Espanol (due within 18 months of starting first grade)
- Oral Health Assessment Form / Espanol (due at kindergarten registration)
Age/Grade Level Requirements for the 2023-2024 School Year:
- Students who are 6 years old on or before September 1, 2023 will be eligible for First Grade.
- Students who are 5 years old on or before September 1, 2023 will be eligible for Kindergarten.
- Students born between September 2, 2018 - June 30, 2019 will be eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
