In November 2006, the voters within Santee School District approved a $60 million dollar General Obligation Bond. In May 2007, the first $18 million in bonds were sold to fund planning and improvements. Architectural plans were started in the Spring of 2007. This bond funding is only a portion of a much larger Capital Improvement Program amounting to an estimated $139.3 million.

We would like to thank the community of the Santee School District, its employees, parent groups, senior citizens, business community, the Chamber of Commerce, and San Diego Taxpayers' Association for their support and commitment to the children of Santee. The passage of Proposition R moves us forward with needed repairs and improvements for
our 30 to 40 year old schools. We thank you for recognizing the need to modernize learning environments for our students.

Prop R Funding will:

  • Construct and Install Library Technology Centers
  • Add Junior High Complexes (on many school sites)
  • Provide Accessible Facilities Upgrades
  • Renovate Field Improvements

Again, we wish to extend our sincere thanks for the confidence you have demonstrated in Santee School District's future.

Project groundbreaking ceremonies were held on April 9, 2008, at Cajon Park School.
