Reports and Presentations
- Dr. Lisa Paisley, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, presented an update on the 2023-24 Local Control Accountability Plan Goals and Action Service Steps. The Executive Summary and other materials can be found here.
Public Hearings
- A Public Hearing was held for the 2024-25 Local Control Accountability Plan. Details can be found in the Board Packet.
- A Public Hearing was held for the 2024-25 Santee School District Adopted Budget. Details can be found in the Board Packet.
Discussion and/or Action Items
- The Board appointed Shelly Baker, as Coordinator, Expanded Learning Program/Preschool. Ms. Baker has been serving as the Executive Director of Early Childhood Programs in Warren-Walker School, since 2018; and from 2005-2018, she served as their Prekindergarten/Junior Kindergarten Director. Ms. Baker holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Bachelor’s in Child Development from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego.
- The Board adopted a resolution to accept a $1,225,673.00 grant from California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE). This plumbing grant will allow Santee School District to contract with an outside agency to assess, maintain, and repair/replace noncompliant plumbing fixtures to ensure water efficiency that will ultimately result in a cost savings to the district.
Board Policies and Bylaws
- First reading for: BP 5141.21 Administering Medication and Monitoring Health Conditions. Policy updated to reflect AB 1283 which authorizes districts to provide emergency stock albuterol inhalers to school nurses or trained personnel who have volunteered, who may use the inhaler to provide emergency medical aid to person(s) suffering, or reasonably believed to be suffering, from respiratory distress, and AB 1722 which authorizes districts to hire a licensed vocational nurse following Governing Board approval that a diligent search was conducted for a credentialed school nurse.
