Strategic Planning 2012-2017

In early 2012, Santee School District convened a group consisting of the Board of Education, District administrators, District employees, parents, and community members for a three-day "retreat" to develop a new Strategic Plan designed to prepare our students to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The new plan, developed from the work done by this incredible group of volunteers, is a five-year plan that will focus on the development of five district-wide goals:

  • Educational Achievement
  • Learning Environment
  • Student Well-Being
  • Staff Development
  • Fiscal Accountability

The outcomes from the work of this group include:

At the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year, seven committees consisting of parents, employees, administrators, and community members were established to research and implement the priority areas of the Strategic Action Plans.

During the spring, Prioritized Action Plans for each of these five goals were developed. The community was invited to the Annual Strategic Plan Meeting to update the environmental scan, update the critical issue list, and share and celebrate the accomplishments this past year. This meeting was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 .

Planning Committees are currently working on the Prioritized Action Plans. Agendas and Minutes for each of these committee meetings are available at: http://www.santeesd.net//site/Default.aspx?PageID=7509

The Board of Education greatly appreciates the active role the community has had in this process and in the development of the educational program for the students of Santee School District.
